        About Sylvia Buchanan
I loved my career as a registered nurse for more than 40 years. 2017 brought graduation from Tyndale
University with a Master of Theological Studies and retirement. It has been my joy and delight to offer
spiritual direction for 9 years and supervision for 3 years.
Walking is one of my great delights, a place of deep connection with God through putting my feet on the
ground, captured by nature’s beauty, inviting me into deep peace, communion and rest, overflowing with
praise.
Believing that the triune God is present and active in every moment of life:
Spiritual direction is a sacred journey of discovery. Come as you are – your story, joys or sorrows,
questions or doubts. It’s a space of unhurried, contemplative, compassionate listening letting our
attention be drawn to opportunities for you to grow deeper in relationship with God.
Supervision is a contemplative, compassionate peer conversation, a relationship of trust, respect and
collegiality, that fosters the becoming of the spiritual director, growing in God and self-awareness. This
becoming is in service of the absent other, the directee’s growing relationship with God and their
spiritual well-being.
